Nintendo has plans to release the first 3 dimensional piece of technology that can be used without a special type of glasses. HTC has also recently released a 3D phone. The phone will be similar to the already released EVO but consumers will be able to view videos and capture photos in 3D. Nintendo's 3DS also has a pair of cameras for capturing scenes in 3-D, and it works quite well. Nintendo assumed that they would have competition after they released plans for a 3D gadget, but they aren't worried about it. They say that since they have better 3D games their product will be the obvious consumer choice. Some of the obstacles these 3D gadgets face is that some of the products do require users to wear the tacky glasses and some of the products have poor camera capabilities.

Self Assesment
I am contributing to the study of new media in many different ways. I present all types of new media in current events so people can learn that it's not just the internet that is making great strides but tablet computers, and cell phones, and specific websites as well. My blog is helpful in analyzing current new media trends because I report on current events in new media every week; therefore as the trends change I am able to report on them and summarize them. I summarize the articles I read and on some of posts I even included my opinion on the topic. I could improve my blog perhaps by changing the colors but I wanted the main focus to be on the content as opposed to the design of the blog. My experience so far is that I like learning about new media and how it impacts current events. I'm good at summarizing articles but sometimes I struggle to find different topics that would be appealing to many different audiences. I think I am getting better at it though.

Immigrants more inclined to use Tablet computers
According to the most recent census bureau, there are about 34 million foreign born people living in the United States. 13 percent of immigrants reported having some type of tablet computer while two-thirds had the ipad specifically. Surprisingly enough, only 5 percent of Americans had some form of tablet computer. After looking at this data one might ask why is there such a large difference in percentages between Americans and Immigrants that own tablet computers. It is suggested that many immigrants may come from places around the world that is more willing to accept new technology and the change that comes with it than Americans are. A lot of the immigrants were also very willing to buy new and improved tablet computers in the future.
